Instructor: Emma Brittain Hardy

Emma Brittain-Hardy has taught at Locust Street Art since 2017. She graduated from Houghton College with a degree in Art and Theology. She continuously pursues art in many forms including public art, art exhibitions, and her line of functional pottery. Emma completed a 100 ft long mural at Red Jacket Riverfront Park in 2023. She received NYSCA funding for a public sculptural project in 2024. She can also be found at art festivals selling her pottery.

Ages 8+, Teen & Adult

  • Tuesdays 3:30-6:00pm

  • Wednesdays 3:30-6:00pm

  • Thursdays 3:30-6:00pm

  • Saturdays 1-5pm

Learn the different hand-building pottery techniques of pinching, coiling, and slab rolling. All materials provided! Once you have experience with a few basic techniques, you can make your own functional tableware, vessels, sculpture, installations, and mixed media—the possibilities in ceramics are endless.

Our Free Studio Art Classes are SELF-DIRECTED with the guidance of your instructor. That means come when it works for you and stay however long you want!
